First Friday Downtown RaleighFirst Friday is a free self-guided tour of Downtown Raleigh’s cutting edge cultural hot spots. Local art galleries, art studios, and museums stay open late the first Friday of every month to welcome thousands of art enthusiasts.

The event runs from 6pm – 9pm. For a detailed list of Galleries, Retailers, Exhibitors and Restaurants and Bars that participate in First Friday click here!

Attendees may also take advantage of the First Friday specials offered by participating restaurants and retailers. Look for the First Friday Flags to easily locate participating venues! A detailed map/guide will be available at each location. Visit the galleries and listen to live music. Enjoy the restaurants and take advantage of the First Friday specials offered by all participating restaurants.

Local Color Gallery – “Coalescence” Exhibit

“Coalescence” an exhibit at Local Color Gallery featuring Rebecca Toy and Keanna Artis. The exhibit is about blending of ideas, a showcasing of work that combines elements of everyday life with abstract geometric shapes and designs.

Adam Cave Fine Art – David Dunlop: New Oils on Aluminum

David Dunlop is a renowned painter and art educator with works in prominent collections world-wide. He is the host of the PBS Television series Landscapes Through Time with David Dunlop. This new group of paintings features Dunlop’s unique use of old master painting techniques on modern aluminum; an approach inspired by the study of 17th Century Dutch and Italian paintings.

Brushstroke Studio & Gallery – First Friday with Saramanada – Abstract Painter

Featuring the incredible abstracts by painter, Saramanda Zurbuch. Her pieces are an evocative display of textures and colors that move from dark brooding reds to ethereal blues and grays. You do not want to miss this emerging artist.

CAM Raleigh – Sarah Ann Johnson” Wonderland Mid Career survey 2002-2014

The work of Sarah Ann Johnson playfully, but pointedly bridges the real and the imagined; factual and fictive; lived and desired. She works from her own perspective that reflects her concerns for the world, combined with the pursiut of a Utopian place. Wonderland presents the first opportunity to trace the continuity and evolution of this artist’s practice.

The Morning Times – The Morning Times Market

Enjoy local artisans, live music, entertainment, and local craft beer at The Morning Times Market, an outdoor art market.

NC Museum of History – First Friday at the Museum

Visit “The Story of North Carolina” chronological history exhibition on the lobby level. Before you leave, stop by the Museum Shop for a souvenir of your evening. The North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild will be organizing tastings of beer from Nickelpoint Brewing.

Moon & Lola – First Friday Easter Egg Promotion

Hop on over to Moon and Lola to pick an egg from their Easter basket to receive up to 25% off your purchase. Enjoy a special Easter Cocktail, jelly beans and cotton candy.
